Hey Hey!! I love to try new foundations, I've found a few that I would consider to be my holy grail products, foundations I can always go back to, always count on, however, I am always in search of the next best thing I guess you could say. I see all the new releases and think, what if this will be the foundation that triumphs over all my other foundations??? Ha!
Today, I wanted to share my thoughts/review of the Marc Jacobs Shameless Youthful Look 24-Hour foundation. I do not own any Marc Jacobs face products so I was super excited to try it out. Let's jump right in!
About the Foundation: The website markets this foundation as a 24-hour longwear foundation which encapsulates the SPF in the pigment. This technology makes the SPF undetectable, basically no flashback or white/gey cast on the face as often caused by SPF. This foundation is an oil-free, buildable medium coverage foundation with a total of 29 shades in the collection.
Packaging: As you can see the packaging is cute! The foundation comes in a small little plastic bottle, with a squeeze tip for dispensing the foundation. I actually like the packaging because it's easy to travel with, just throw it in your makeup bag and you're good to go! Because of the shape and size of the container, at first I didn't think there was much in there, but there is 1.08 oz which is standard for most foundations.
Cost: The price of the foundation is $46. This is definitely more of a luxury foundation as it's on the higher end of the spectrum. Depending on what you're looking for, what you're used to etc this may be a bit much to spend on foundation.
Thoughts: On the positive side, the color match for me was amazing, it literally melted into my skin (my shade was Y480 for reference). It's also extremely lightweight. I also like that there is SPF in the foundation as it's super important to protect our skin. I know many shy away from products that contain SPF for fear of a grey cast or flashback, but I did not experience that with this foundation at all. I knew when I purchased this foundation that it was medium coverage, so I wasn't expecting a full coverage however, I did feel like it was more along the lines of a BB cream when first applied. Also, for me it did not wear well throughout the day. I feel like it settled into my smile lines and overall just didn't look good on me as the day went on.
If you love a medium coverage I definitely suggest you try it out. You can always pick up a sample and wear it for a few days to see how it does. It may do well on your skin but for me it just didn't work very well.
Have you tried this foundation? What are your thoughts about it? I'd love to know in the comments!
