Ways to Refresh Your Beauty Routine While in Quarantine

Since we are all spending so much more time at home, now is the perfect time to refresh your beauty routine. I just wanted to share some things I've been doing beauty wise during quarantine. Here are a few ideas you can do when the motivation strikes or things to do to keep boredom at bay.





#1 - Play with your makeup and try some new looks! Now's a great time to play with the makeup you already own. Maybe you're usually a neutral girl and never wear much color because you're not sure how to wear them or your lifestyle just doesn't allow for fun colors during the day etc. Well now is the perfect time to try out those colors in some of your palettes. You can also catch up on YouTube tutorials and experiment in ways you normally wouldn't. The sky's the limit here guys! The best part is, if it's a total fail you can literally just wash it off - it's not like anyone was going to see it anyway lol!

#2 - Clean your makeup brushes. Cleaning makeup brushes can be such a hassle, especially if you have a lot of them. Now is the perfect time to go through and clean them all! If you're out of cleaner don't be afraid to use what you have at home. I like to use Dawn and vinegar sometimes, but a gentle cleanser like baby wash, or even a bar of Dove will do. 

#3 - Organize and clean out your makeup stash. Do you buy a lot and forget what you have? Or are you holding on to makeup from years and years ago? This is a great time to clean it all out and really take inventory of what you have, what needs to be tossed (or maybe given to a friend), and what you can bring back into rotation. With the culture of beauty so focused on buy, buy, buy, I know sometimes I even forget I have things buried deep. This is a great time to step back and see what you actually have. You can also do this with your skincare and hair products.

#4 - Step up your skincare routine. Now that I'm wearing makeup much less, I've been focusing more on my skincare daily. I love to buy masks but don't use them nearly as much as I should. But self care has been high on my list lately and those masks have been getting used up. If you're into DIY you can also make some scrubs for your lips and body with items from home. Also, don't forget if you're hanging outside on these beautiful days don't forget your sunscreen!! (If you missed it, I wrote a post all about sunscreen HERE)

I hope these ideas helped you out a little! And don't feel bad if you really just don't feel like doing anything either, there are some days I literally do nothing, and that's okay during these uncertain times!
