5 Different Ways to Use the Makeup You Already Own

5.20.2020

One thing I've learned over the years is that many makeup products can be used in multiple ways. I know for many shopping for makeup right now isn't on the top list of priorities, so I wanted to give you some ideas to get the most out of the things you already own.  Yes, there are plenty of brands who offer multitasking products, but most likely you already own products which can be used in several different ways.

These ideas are also great for when you're short on time and just need something quick without many products. They are also good for traveling when you can't take much with you. The possibilities are endless!

Here are 5 different ways to use the makeup you already own.

1. Put Your lipstick to Work
This may be my most used and most known tip from this post, but it's so good! I love this hack and use it all the time. Just put a little lipstick on the apples of your cheek and blend it in like a cream blush! This works well if you're stuck on a blush color to use as well. You can also reverse this hack and swipe a bit of blush across the lips or use your cream blush as a tinted lip balm. To take it even further you can achieve a monochromatic look and use your lipstick as blush and even as color on your eyes.

2 . From the Face to the Eyes
Get more use out of your bronzer and highlighter by using them not only on the face, but also on the eyes. I love to use bronzer on my eyes to add definition on light makeup days. I like to pop it into the crease and on the lower lash line. Highlighter can also be used for more than just the face. I like to sweep it across my lids and use as an eyeshadow. It's easy and takes the guess work out of choosing an eye look. If you're just trying to save time and use less products you can use both together. Bronzer in the crease, highlighter on the lids. You can also use your highlighter on the lips with gloss over top, I like to do this on beach days!

4. Multitask Your Eyeshadow
This has saved me in a pinch and works well if you don't need to do too much with your eyebrows. You can easily take a dark brown shadow (or eye shadow shade close to your brow color) and fill the brows in. The eyeshadow is just like if you used a brow powder!

5. Get Glossy
If you're into the dewy look, you can definitely utilize your lipgloss! You can dab a bit onto your cheekbones to accentuate the highlight or blush, or you can swipe it across your lid for the 'wet' look.

I hope these tips have been helpful! What tips do you have to make your makeup work in different ways?? Let me know in the comments!
